One of the best times of the year to visit the Oregon Coast is during spring--the sun is out, the crowds are small, and you can catch a glimpse of gray whales migrating north to Alaska. We rounded up our favorite places around Netarts Bay to spend spring break.
CAPE LOOKOUT STATE PARK
This popular hiking spot is located on a stretch of land between Netarts Bay and the sprawling Pacific Ocean. Explore walking trails in old growth forest with one of a kind views. If you’re lucky, you might be able to spot some whales offshore! Cape Lookout is a fantastic spot for camping, and has a few yurts and cabins available to rent. For more information and directions, visit their website.
The Schooner is focused on local and seasonal produce and seafood. Eat fresh oysters from the bay and soak up the sun next to the ocean! This restaurant has some of the best views in Netarts. 2065 Boat Basin Road, Netarts OR
After grabbing a bite at The Schooner, head down the street to Nevør. These oysters are as fresh as it gets! Chat with the knowledgeable staff, take a bag home, and enjoy the scenic drive. 6060 Whiskey Creek Road, Netarts OR
Stop by our saltworks and see the calm, pristine bay waters where our salt is harvested. Meet our world class salt makers, hear about the process, and pick up a gift to take home from our gift shop. 9820 Whiskey Creek Road, Netarts OR
