It's hard to believe that our Matcha Salt collaboration with Mizuba Tea Co. happened a decade ago — back in 2016! Inspired by that infusion, we created an easy DIY version for those bottom-of-the-matcha-tin moments. Try this flavorful technique with other pantry favorites, like leftover cocoa, ground coffee or shichimi, a Japanese chili spice blend.

Infused Matcha Salt

 

Ingredients: 

Almost-empty matcha tin (we used Mizuba's Yama Matcha)
Pure Flake Sea Salt

Process:

Add flake salt to your matcha tin and gently shake to combine. You can add more or less salt to adjust the strength of the matcha flavor — more salt equals more dilution. 

When ready to enjoy, sprinkle over buttered toast, baked goods or roasted veggies.

Store the tin in a cool, dry place to maintain freshness.
